
Daria Ivasiuk assists Ferrara Fiorenza clients across a broad range of education law matters. Her practice includes the representation and defense of school districts in tax certiorari proceedings, as well as advising municipal clients on real property and taxation issues.
Daria regularly counsels clients on Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) Agreements, including their review, impact analysis, and enforcement.
She represents school districts in Family Court proceedings, with a particular focus on Family Court Act Article 7 (Person in Need of Supervision proceedings). In addition, Daria assists districts with student discipline matters and provides legal advisement related to Superintendent’s disciplinary hearings.
Another significant aspect of Daria’s practice includes reviewing and responding to records requests under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the New York State Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), including the preparation of initial responses and appeal determinations.
